Instagib Server problems
« on: September 05, 2006, 02:58:50 AM »
 Hi Guys,

I've set up an instaunlagged server on my home LAN, but I'm still having some small problems and I'm hoping someone here can help.

I'm using IU 1.2 beta and, for the life of me, cannot make grapple work. I've added "set insta_offhandhook 1" and tried enabling it from the console, but with no success.

Also, my server (a seperate machine on my home LAN, not used as a client) does not appear in the games server browser) works great on the LAN, but I want others to be able to connect. I have a Linksys wireless g router that I thought I'd configured for Q3 (I used the default port 27960) but no dice.

Appreciate any help you guys can offer. TIA

The problem may be because InstaUnlagged doesn't support the grapple. :(

Thanks for the quick reply.

My favorite server is !!!!Best All Rail which shows up as InstagibUnlagged in the in-game browser, which is why I assumed IU supported the hook. The question now is, since I want to run a hook and rail server in the worst way, what can I do? Also, do you have any idea why a dedicated server on another client machine on my LAN would not show up in the in-game server browser?

Anyway, thank you for the reply. I'm really grateful for any help you can give and I hope you can help me get this done.

TIA

Add "+set net_port 27660" (without the quotes) to the server's start line and it should show up in the browser. :) Learned that one the hard way. As far as a simple q3 mod for rails and hook and you don't want to get all complicated, I like Beryllium. It does a good adjustable rail and adjustable hook. I've got a copy somewhere around here. I'll add it to the downloads section tomorrow.

OK, I found my copy of Beryllium. I uploaded it to the "Downloads" section of the site. I put some example cfgs and the docs from the original Beryllium site in the zip. It's a good mod.
